In this tour, we will be exploring the spice trail through our very own God’s Own Country- Kerala, from the tea plantations of Munnar to the Spice trail in Thekkady, all in one tour. We conclude our trip relaxing in the backwaters of the serene village of Mararikulam before heading back home!

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1- Arrive in Calicut and Transfer to Wayanad

Today, you will be reaching Calicut. Your pick up will be arranged from the nearest airport or railway station. Upon arrival, wasting no time, you will be headed to Wayanad and will be checked in to your hotel. You can check in and spend the rest of the day at  your leisure recovering from the hectic journey you might have had today.  Wayanad is a beautiful hill station of Kerala that has so much to offer. The changing landscapes and climates is undeniably admirable and the beauty of passing by tropical rainforests and aromatic coffee plantations, imagine living around these for 2 nights!

Day 2- Wayanad Local Sightseeing

Today, we will embark the beautiful journey of much awaited and yet less explored tour. Today, we will see what all goes into the journey of Coffee from being a berry to getting to your coffee mug! You can shop some amazing local coffee before you get going. Set at an altitude of 700 – 2100 m above sea level, Wayanad is one of the districts in Kerala that has been able to retain its pristine nature. Other sightseeing attractions may include Pookode Lake, Soojipara waterfalls, Kuruva Island, Edakkal Cave and Chembra Peak, depending on the time available. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3- Wayanad to Athirapally

Start your day early and head to Athirapally. Popularly known its heavy waterfalls and scenic greenery, Athirapally is a perfect  quiet getaway for a nature lover. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure recovering from the long drive.

Day 4- Wayanad to Cherai Beach

Early morning, after a delicious breakfast, check out of your hotel and head to Athirapally Waterfalls. These beautiful misty waterfalls are known to be pouring all through the year. After spending time here, we will head to Cherai, our next stop! Upon arrival at Cherai, a small coastal hamlet of Kerala known for its rustic bit and beautiful calm beach check in to your stay. Spend the evening at your leisure relaxing in this beautiful beach sand.

Day 5- Cherai to Vagamon enroute Cochin Local Sightseeing

Today, after an early breakfast, we will head to Vagamon. Enroute, we will visit the state capital of Kerala-Kochi. We shall be visiting the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry. We will also be visiting the colonial churches of Cochin and see men in action with the Chinese fishing nets. Later in the afternoon we will head to Vagamon, a quiet hill station near Munnar, less commercial and rich. Check in for our stay. Relax for the night in Vagamon.

Day 6-Vagamon to Thekaddy

After breakfast depart to Thekkady. Enjoy a scenic drive to from Vagamon and Check in your hotel in Thekaddy upon arrival. In the afternoon we will visit Periyar Tiger Reserve to view the wildlife in the sanctuary. You can opt to do activities as per your preference here.  The boat ride in the lake is usually a delightful way of spotting Elephant and flora, for which the park is well known. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7- Thekkady Local Sightseeing

Beginning an early morning, we will embark on a spice tour where we will visit the spice gardens exploring the natural look of the spices that we so often use in our daily lives. We can shop some spices directly from their sources which are absolutely pure and healthy. We will then head to the Cultural Village and witness the history and culture of the region. Later in the afternoon, we will head towards the famous Elephant Junction where we may feed and bathe the elephants. Believing in responsible tourism, we do not encourage elephant rides and hence you may opt for a jeep safari if you please! We will head back to the hotel for the evening.

Day 8- Thekaddy to Varkala

Enjoy a relaxed morning today. After checking out, we will head to this beautiful beach town of Varkala. Upon arrival, check in and spend the evening at your leisure enjoying the music of the waves or indulging in some Ayurvedic relaxations.

Day 9- Varkala to Kovalam

Enjoy a relaxed morning today. After checking out, we will head to the famous town of kovalam. Kovalam truly captures the essence of Kerala.This internationally renowned beach has been a favourite haunt of tourists since the 1930’s. A beach paradise with boundless blue of the Arabian Sea and is a sheltered natural bay. On arrival check in at Hotel and relax for the evening.

Day 10- Leisure day in Kovalam

Today, we will relax and enjoy a lazy day in this coastal paradise. You can explore this city and its cultural heritage or just sit by the beach over some delicious food and drinks and cherish our last night in Kerala for this tour.

Day 11- Departure Day

After a delicious breakfast, we will head to the airport. Railway station to take our flight back home with some amazing experiences and beautiful memories of this stunning place.
